Watch out for these penny stocks locked in the upper circuit on July 13

BSE Sensex ended the losing streak by opening on a positive note today, up by 105 points at a level of 53,992 at 11.33 am.

Indian markets began the trading session on a positive note on the back of mixed global cues despite concerns over the rising recession and inflation. 

India's factory output, Index of Industrial Production (IIP), witnessed a growth of 19.6 per cent in May 2022. The IIP grew 7.1 per cent in April 2022. India's headline retail inflation rate, the Consumer Price Index (CPI), stood at 7.01 per cent in June 2022 from 7.04 per cent in May 2022 as per the data released on July 12, 2022, by the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MOSPI).  

BSE Sensex ended the losing streak by opening on a positive note today, up by 105 points at a level of 53,992 at 11.33 am. BSE Midcap index also jumped 133 points and trades at 22,814 levels. Likewise, BSE Smallcap rose by 99 points and trades at 25,881 levels. Sensex Top Gainers include Hindustan Unilever (2.52 per cent), Asian Paints (1.93 per cent), Larsen & Toubro (1.36 per cent), NTPC (1.22 per cent), and Infosys (1.15 per cent).   

Similarly, Nifty index has increased by 38 points and trades at 16,097 levels. Bank Nifty saw a decline of 42 points only to trade at 35,090 levels. The top gaining indices on Nifty are FMCG, media, pharma, and healthcare. On the other hand, the oil & gas, banking, and financial services are trading in the red.  

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth Rs 1,565.68 crore on July 12 while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 140.71 crore.
