Watch out for these penny stocks locked in the upper circuit on February 3!

Benchmarks Sensex and Nifty 50 took a breather from their two-week highs. Asian stocks were trading mixed on Thursday amid some lingering concerns about global growth and ongoing geopolitical tension.

Benchmarks Sensex and Nifty 50 took a breather from their two-week highs. Asian stocks were trading mixed on Thursday amid some lingering concerns about global growth and ongoing geopolitical tension. The main indices were trading at the day's low amid profit selling after a three-day rally. The Nifty traded below the 17,700 marks. Auto, media and consumer durables stocks were trading firmly, while banks and IT shares were under pressure. FII trimmed their selling to just Rs 183.60 crore and a DII inflow of Rs 425.96 crore was recorded.  

 

The BSE Sensex index had declined by 346 points and is trading at a level of 59,211.44. BSE MidCap has also fallen by 408 points and is trading at 25,014.11 points. 

 

The gaining stocks today in the index are TVS motors (5.01 per cent), Ashok Leyland (2.43 per cent), and Oracle Financial Services Software (2.28 per cent). BSE SmallCap also weakened and is trading at 29,943.35 down by 23 points. The top gainers are Himadri Speciality Chemicals (13.28 per cent), Jindal Drilling & Industries (9.57 per cent), and Zuari Agro Chemicals (10.00 per cent). 

 

The Nifty 50 index also plunged and is trading at 17,668.90 levels down by 111 points. The major contributors are Hero MotoCorp, Maruti Suzuki India, Bajaj Auto, Titan, and Eicher Motors contributing the majority and gaining 1 per cent each. The stocks of losing today are HDFC Bank, SBI Life, Larsen & Toubro, ONGC, and Kotak Bank falling by more than 1.3 per cent each.
