At 09:30 AM, The trading session began with marginal dips for Sensex and Nifty, at 0.3 per cent and 0.33 per cent respectively. Nifty Mid-Cap opened steady, while Nifty Small-Cap showed promise with a 0.3 per cent gain.

A significant rise of 3.07 per cent in the India VIX signaled heightened market volatility.

Prominent sectoral movements highlighted Nifty IT, Nifty PSU Bank, and Nifty Realty as early gainers, whereas Nifty Metal, Nifty Pharma, and Nifty FMCG faced initial setbacks.

HCL Tech, Power Grid, and Apollo Hospitals emerged as strong starters among the Nifty 50 gainers. Conversely, Hero Motocorp, Hindalco, and SBI Life kicked off the day as notable losers, affecting their standings.

With around 1044 stocks advancing and 804 declining, a positive market sentiment prevailed, setting an optimistic tone for the trading session ahead.

On August 10, foreign institutional investors (FII) bought shares worth Rs 331.22 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) purchased shares worth Rs 703.72 crore.
