Watch out for these penny stocks locked in the upper circuit on April 29

Varroc Engineering Ltd (VEL) hits a 20 per cent upper circuit limit of Rs 494.60 after announcing that it will sell its four-wheeler lighting system operations in the Americas and Europe to Compagnie Plastic Omnium SE of France for 600 million euros. Jindal Poly Films (JPFL) rose 3.23 per cent to Rs 1,155 after the business said that Jindal Polypack, a wholly-owned subsidiary, has entered into a deal to acquire 100 per cent of SMI Coated Products' shares.  

 

S&P BSE Sensex ascended by 201 points to 57,722.36 at 11.50 am. S&P BSE Midcap index also jumped 110 points and trades at 24,727.15 levels. Similarly, S&P BSE Smallcap index soared 51 points and trades at 28,830.03 levels. Sensex Top Gainers include Dr Reddy’s Laboratories (3.05 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (2.21 per cent), Tata Steel (1.77 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (1.33 per cent), and HDFC Bank (1.11 per cent).  

 

Nifty 50 index was trading at 17,308.80, gushing upwards by 63 points. Bank Nifty also trades higher by 87 points at a level of 36,509.80. The top gainers on Nifty 50 are HDFC Life Insurance (3.28 per cent), Tata Consumer Products (2.38 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical (2.13 per cent), Dr Reddy’s Laboratories (3.08 per cent), and Tata Steel (1.84 per cent).  

 

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth Rs 743.22 crore on April 28 while the domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 780.94 crore.
