Vishwaraj Sugar Industries gets Distance Certificate to set up a new unit
Board of company at its meeting held on July 9, 2021, has approved the acquisition of additional 22 acres of land to get a distance certificate
Vishwaraj Sugar Industries, an integrated sugar and ethanol manufacturer, has informed that Commissioner for Cane Development and Director of Sugar, Government of Karnataka, has issued Distance Certificate in respect of the company for setting up of 5000 Tons of Cane per Day (TCD) sugar plant at Navage Village Belagavi District. Relying on the measurements furnished by the Karnataka Geo-Spatial Data Centre, Survey of India, Bengaluru, the Distance Certificate along with latitude and longitude, is issued by the Commissioner for Cane Development and Director of Sugar, Government of Karnataka, has recommended to the Department for promotion of Industry and Internal Trade and The Chief Director (Sugar) Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution has approved the proposal of the Company for setting up of 5000 TCD sugar plant.
Earlier in July 2021, the Board of Vishwaraj Sugar Industries at its meeting held on July 9, 2021, has approved the acquisition of additional 22 acres of land to get a distance certificate for setting up of greenfield sugar factory along with a distillery at Navage Village.
Going forward, VSIL plans to move up the value chain by targeting new geographies, sectors, and clientele in the pharmaceuticals, health supplements and nutraceuticals, and beauty and personal care industries.
Sugar companies to gain as the government has taken an initiative to reduce the overall oil import by blending ethanol in the fuel. This mover is likely to encourage ethanol blending of fuel and may have a direct positive impact on the sugar companies. Even VSIL may gain as the company plans to set up a brownfield ethanol production, with a capacity of 150,000 litres per day.
