At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in green with a gain of 311.90 points or 0.40 per cent. By 9.17 am, the index stood at 78,306.17, signifying a gain of 321.79 points or 0.41 per cent over its previous closing.

On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals jumped by 0.039 per cent, power zoomed by 0.61 and auto soared by 0.81 per cent.
Meanwhile, Endurance Technologies Ltd, Supreme Industries Ltd and Cigniti Technologies Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
Endurance Technologies Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 9.04 per cent to trade at Rs 2,176.95 apiece. The company expects its volumes to recover, particularly from key client Bajaj Auto, despite recent drops in two-wheeler sales.
Supreme Industries Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 7.00 per cent to trade at Rs 3,745.10 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
Cigniti Technologies Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 6.42 per cent to trade at Rs 1,504.95 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
