At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in green with a gain of 117.15 points or 0.14 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index stood at 82,482.91 signifying a gain of 130.27 points or 0.16 per cent over its previous closing.

On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals Jumped by 0.34 per cent, power zoomed by 0.35 and auto soared by 0.33 per cent.
Meanwhile, Reliance Power Ltd, Nazara Technologies Ltd and Sapphire Foods India Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
Reliance Power Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 4.99 per cent to trade at 32.61 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
Nazara Technologies Ltd rallied 4.35 per cent to trade at Rs 987.95 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
Sapphire Foods India Ltd, an S&P BSE company, climbed 3.92 per cent to trade at Rs 350 apiece. The operator of KFC and Pizza Hut has the record date for a 1:5 stock split today. Shareholders see each face value of Rs 10 share split into five Rs 2 shares.
