At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in green with a gain of 3.81 points or 0.00 per cent. By 9.17 am, the index stood at 84,843.12 signifying a gain of 70.92 points or 0.08 per cent over its previous closing.
On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals jumped by 0.03 per cent, power zoomed by 0.08 and auto soared by 0.21 per cent.

Meanwhile, City Union Bank Ltd, Rhi Magnesita India Ltd and Asahi India Glass Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
City Union Bank Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 7.46 per cent to trade at 162 apiece. The company has announced its performance results for the 2nd quarter/half year, which ended in the financial year 2024-25. In Financial Performance Q2 FY25 vs Q2 FY24, interest income grew by 10 per cent and PAT jumped by 2 per cent.
Rhi Magnesita India Ltd rallied 5.11 per cent to trade at Rs 622 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
Asahi India Glass Ltd, an S&P BSE company, climbed 4.58 per cent to trade at Rs 737.85 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
