At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in green with a gain of 969.15 points or 1.23 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index stood at 79,453.86 signifying a gain of 860.79 points or 1.10 per cent over its previous closing.

On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals jumped by 2.38 per cent, power zoomed by 1.94 and auto soared by 1.91 per cent.
Meanwhile, PB Fintech Ltd, Safari Industries (India) Ltd and Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.

Safari Industries (India) Ltd rallied 15.69 per cent to trade at Rs 2,475.00 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
