These three stocks were the top gainers on BSE in the pre-opening session today.
At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in red with a loss of 146.09 points or 0.20 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index further strengthened at 73,988.56 signifying a gain of 320.60 points or 0.44 per cent over its previous closing.
On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals fell by 0.08 per cent, power declined 0.19 and auto rose by 0.06 per cent.
Meanwhile, ITC Ltd, Repco Home Finance Ltd and JTL Industries Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
ITC Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 8.60 per cent to trade at Rs 439.00 apiece. The stock rallied as the British American Tobacco (BAT) Plc is said to be selling 3.5 per cent stake in ITC to institutional investors in block deals today. According to media reports, the price range for the proposed sale of shares is set at Rs 384-400.25 apiece, which was a 5 per cent discount to the prevailing market price at the lower end of the price band.
Repco Home Finance Ltd rallied 4.51 per cent to trade at Rs 424.15 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
JTL Industries Ltd, an S&P BSE company, climbed 4.35 per cent to trade at Rs 183.50 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
