Top three stocks that saw heavy demand from buyers in the pre-opening session today
These three stocks were the top gainers on BSE in the pre-opening session today.
At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in red with a loss of 112.53 points or 0.16 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index stood at 71,021.18 signifying a loss of 534.01 points or 0.75 per cent over its previous closing.
On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals fell by 0.57 per cent, power declined 0.82 and auto fell by 0.51 per cent.
Meanwhile, Varroc Engineering Ltd, United Breweries Ltd and National Aluminium Company Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
Varroc Engineering Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 4.48 per cent to trade at Rs 537.20 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
United Breweries Ltd rallied 3.57 per cent to trade at Rs 1799.40 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
National Aluminium Company Ltd, an S&P BSE company, climbed 3.52 per cent to trade at Rs 147.00 apiece. The company posted strong financial results for the quarter ended December 31, 2023 with 137 per cent jump in net profit to Rs 488 crore.
