At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in green with a gain of 98.24 points or 0.15 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index stood at 66,064.05 signifying a gain of 94.01 points or 0.14 per cent over its previous closing.
On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals rose by 0.59 per cent, power gained 0.97 and auto rose by 0.35 per cent.
Meanwhile, Usha Martin Ltd, Greenlam Industries Ltd and KPI Green Energy Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
Usha Martin Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 5.96 per cent to trade at Rs 352.95 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
