Top three stocks that saw heavy demand from buyers in the pre-opening session today
These three stocks were the top gainers on BSE in the pre-opening session today.
At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in red with a loss of 241.90 points or 0.37 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index further strengthened stood at 64,905.52 signifying a slight gain of 19.01 points or 0.03 per cent over its previous closing.
On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals fell by 0.10 per cent, power gained 0.37 and auto rose by 0.18 per cent.
Meanwhile, Gujarat Gas Ltd, APL Apollo Tubes Ltd and Dhampur Sugar Mills Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
Zomato Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 5.08 per cent to trade at Rs 95.56 apiece. According to a CNBC post, today, the shares of Zomato were traded in a block deal. In three significant trades, 3.2 crore shares of the company, or 0.4 percent of total equity worth Rs 288 crore, changed hands. The transaction took place at a price of Rs 90.1 per share. The buyer and seller in the transaction are not publicly known.
Suzlon Energy Ltd rallied 4.29 per cent to trade at Rs 23.34 apiece. The company has secured 201.6 MW order from O2 Power Private Limited. The company will supply 64 of their largest wind turbines with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW each. The project will be completed by 2025 and will enable O2 Power to provide electricity to ~1.66 lakh households and curb ~6.55 lakh tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.
Electrosteel Castings Ltd, an S&P BSE company, climbed 3.98 per cent to trade at Rs 69.00 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
