At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in red with a loss of 367.23 points or 0.58 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index stood at 63,158.43 signifying a loss of 70.08 points or 0.11 per cent over its previous closing.
On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals rose by 0.03 per cent, power fell 0.33 and auto rose by 0.12 per cent.
Meanwhile, Brightcom Group Ltd, PNC Infratech Ltd and Suprajit Engineering Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
