Top three stocks that saw heavy demand from buyers in the pre-opening session today
These three stocks were the top gainers on BSE in the pre-opening session today.
At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in red with a loss of 90.31 points or 0.14 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index strengthened to 61,352.05, signifying gains of 401.69 points or 0.66 per cent.
On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals shined by 3 per cent, power strengthened by 0.65 per cent whereas auto surged by 0.23 per cent.
Meanwhile, GMM Pfaudler, Bank of Baroda and Chalet Hotels emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
GMM Pfaudler Ltd, an S&P BSE 500 company, surged 10.90 per cent to trade at Rs 2,189.50 apiece. Last week, the company announced its results for the quarter Q2FY23. During the quarter, the company's revenue grew by 21 per cent YoY while the PAT margins stood at 12.4 per cent.
Bank of Baroda Ltd, an S&P BSE 100 company, rallied 10 per cent to trade at Rs 159 apiece. On Saturday, the bank declared its Q2FY23 results. As per the exchange filing, the bank's net interest income grew by 34.5 per cent YoY and 15.1 per cent QoQ to Rs 10,714 crore in Q2FY23. Further, the bank reported a standalone net profit of Rs 3,313 crore in Q2FY23 as against a profit of Rs 2,088 crore in Q2FY22.
Chalet Hotels Ltd, another S&P BSE 500 company, climbed 8.44 per cent to trade at Rs 400.10 apiece. On Friday, the company made disclosure regarding related party transactions for the half year ended September 30, 2022.
