Top three stocks that saw heavy demand from buyers in the pre-opening session today
These three stocks were the top gainers on BSE in the pre-opening session today.
At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in red with a loss of 391.05 points or 0.68 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index further weakened to 56,624.93, signifying a loss of 482.59 points or 0.85 per cent.
On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals got hammered by 0.85 per cent, power weakened by 1 per cent while auto slipped by half a per cent.
Meanwhile, Forbes & Company Ltd, Shoppers Stop Ltd, and Jindal Saw Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.
Forbes & Company Ltd surged 5 per cent to trade at Rs 766.05 apiece. On Monday, the company announced that its shareholders approved the scheme of arrangement between Forbes & Company Limited (FCL or the ‘demerged company') and Forbes Precision Tools & Machine Parts Limited (FPTL or the 'resulting company').
Shoppers Stop Ltd, an S&P BSE Smallcap company, rallied 4.19 per cent to trade at Rs 743.95 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in its share price could be driven purely by market forces.
Jindal Saw Ltd, another S&P BSE Smallcap company, climbed 3.07 per cent to trade at Rs 83.95 apiece. On Tuesday, the company reported the proceedings of its 37th annual general meeting (AGM).
