Top three stocks that saw heavy demand from buyers in the pre-opening session today

These three stocks were the top gainers on BSE in the pre-opening session today.

At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in red with a loss of 131.04 points or 0.22 per cent. 

By 9.15 am, the index was trading at 58,946.69, signifying a loss of 84.61 points or 0.14 per cent. 

On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals shined by 0.5 per cent, power weakened by 0.6 per cent whereas auto surged 0.08 per cent. 

Meanwhile, Cigniti Technologies Ltd, Vijaya Diagnostic Centre Ltd, and Edelweiss Financial Services Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today. Barring Cigniti Technologies, the other two companies have not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in their share prices could be driven purely by the market forces.   

Cigniti Technologies Ltd, an S&P BSE Smallcap company, surged 7.81 per cent to trade at Rs 649 apiece. This rally comes ahead of the stock's ex-dividend date tomorrow, i.e., August 25, 2022. The company had announced a dividend of Rs 1.2 per equity share, which is 120 per cent of the face value of Rs 1 per equity share. 

Vijaya Diagnostic Centre Ltd, another S&P BSE Smallcap company, rallied 4.84 per cent to trade at Rs 375 apiece. 

Edelweiss Financial Services Ltd, a S&P BSE 500 company, climbed 3.80 per cent to trade at Rs 61.45 apiece.
