One of these stocks hit its upper circuit, post which, trading activity came to a halt.

At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in green with a gain of 249.02 points or 0.42 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index was trading at the level of 58,953.60, signifying gains of 187.01 points or 0.32 per cent.

Meanwhile, Vijaya Diagnostic Centre Ltd, RattanIndia Power Ltd, and Kolte-Patil Developers Ltd, all a part of S&P BSE Smallcap index, emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today. Barring RattanIndia Power Ltd, the other two companies have not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in their share prices could be driven purely by the market forces.

Vijaya Diagnostic Centre Ltd, a healthcare service provider, surged 4.83 per cent to trade at Rs 380 apiece.

RattanIndia Power Ltd rallied 4.81 per cent to trade at Rs 4.36 apiece, hitting the upper circuit. This rally comes after the board appointed Rajiv Rattan (a part of the promoter group), who’s currently, a Non-Executive Chairman, as an Executive Chairman of the company for a period of five years with effect from October 1, 2022.

Kolte-Patil Developers Ltd, another Small-Cap company, climbed 3.92 per cent to trade at Rs 321 apiece.
