Top 3 small-cap stocks that gained over 5 per cent today; do you own any?

These stocks from S&P BSE 250 SmallCap space were trading in the green after strong demand from buyers.

The benchmark index S&P BSE 250 SmallCap Index opened on Monday at 3,798.72 and made its day high at 3,822.12 and it is closed in green today after an up move by 0.37 per cent.  

From the same space, these are the top 3 companies that outperformed the benchmark index and were up by more than 5 per cent today.   

Shares of Elgi Equipments Limited were trading up by more than 7.7 per cent on BSE today. The scrip closed on Friday at Rs 383.00 and opened on Monday at Rs 393.10 a piece. Shares touched their day high at Rs 420.00 after the surge. The 52-week high of the stock stood at Rs566.50, whereas the 52-week low is Rs 248.85. Presently the promoters are holding a 31.19 per cent stake in the company and the institutional and non-institutional holdings are 34.21 per cent and 34.58 per cent, respectively.   

Another top player today is Cholamandalam Financial Holdings Limited. Shares were trading up by more than 7.04 per cent on BSE during the day. The stock opened at Rs 606.75 a piece and touched its day high at Rs 656.30. The 52-week high of Cholamandalam Financial Holdings Limited is at Rs 738.00, whereas the 52-week low stood at Rs 538.25. The promoters are holding around 48.61 per cent stake in the company, whereas the institutional and non-institutional holdings are 38.63 per cent and 12.78 per cent, respectively.   

One more top gainer today which shot up by over 6.2 per cent is MAS Financial Services Limited. The stock opened at Rs 788.65 and touched its day high at Rs 840.00. On Friday, the shares closed at Rs 781.85 a piece. The stock has a 52-week high of Rs 938.25, whereas the 52-week low stood at Rs 485.00. Currently, the promoters are holding about 73.72 per cent stake in the company, whereas the institutional and non-institutional holdings are 12.57 per cent and 13.70 per cent, respectively.
