Top 3 small-cap stocks that gained over 5 per cent in the morning trade

These stocks from S&P BSE 250 SmallCap space were trading in the green after strong demand from buyers.

The benchmark index S&P BSE 250 SmallCap opened on Friday at 3,816.11 and made its day high at 3,828.79 and it is currently trading in the green after an up move by more than 0.20 per cent.   

From the same space, these are the top 3 companies that outperformed the benchmark index and were up by more than 5 per cent today.    

Shares of Punjab & Sind Bank Limited were trading up by more than 9 per cent on BSE today. The scrip closed on Thursday at Rs 27.90 and opened on Friday at Rs 27.45 a piece. Shares touched their day high at Rs 31 after the surge. The 52-week high of the stock stood at Rs 44.65, whereas the 52-week low is Rs 12.50. Presently the promoters are holding a 98.25 per cent stake in the company and the institutional and non-institutional holdings are 0.67 per cent and 1.08 per cent, respectively.    

Another top player today is Medplus Health Services Limited. Shares were trading up by more than 6 per cent on BSE during the day. The stock opened at Rs 650.05 a piece and touched its day high at Rs 700.00. The 52-week high of Medplus Health Services Limited is Rs 1,224, whereas the 52-week low stood at Rs 570.00. The promoters are holding around 40.43 per cent stake in the company, whereas the institutional and non-institutional holdings are 33.00 per cent and 26.56 per cent, respectively.    

One more top gainer today which shot up by over 5.5 per cent is Akzo Nobel India Limited. The stock opened at Rs 2,260 and touched its day high at Rs 2,362.30. On Thursday, the shares closed at Rs 2,226.65 a piece. The stock has a 52-week high of Rs 2,399.95, whereas the 52-week low stood at Rs 1,685.00. Currently, the promoters are holding about 74.76 per cent stake in the company, whereas the institutional and non-institutional holdings are 11.92 per cent and 13.33 per cent, respectively.
