This waste management company partners with High Grade Farms, Inc. – details inside!

This collaborative approach aims to create a sustainable solution for treating wastewater through an algal cultivation-based approach.

High Grade Farms, Inc. (HGF) a Canadian company with innovative algae-based wastewater treatment technology, and Organic Recycling Systems Ltd (ORS), an Indian engineering firm specializing in waste conversion, have joined forces. This partnership aims to develop and deploy sustainable solutions for wastewater treatment and recycling. By combining HGF's patented algae technology for treating wastewater and ORS's expertise in transforming waste into resources, the collaboration seeks to achieve its shared goal of developing sustainable technologies for a cleaner future.

HGF and ORS, recognizing the potential of HGF's Integrated Technology Platform (ITP) to address India's wastewater issues sustainably, have formed a strategic partnership. Through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), they aim to procure, install, and operate an Algae Wastewater Treatment (AWWT) system as part of the ITP. This collaboration focuses on innovative, sustainable treatment of challenging wastewater, increased recycling, and local production of valuable byproducts. To ensure success, the MoU emphasizes conducting feasibility studies and pilot demonstrations to test the effectiveness of the proposed solution. Furthermore, recognizing the environmental and financial benefits, both parties are committed to exploring carbon credit markets and developing marketing plans to promote these sustainable solutions, creating a win-win for all stakeholders involved.

This collaborative approach aims to create a sustainable solution for treating wastewater through an algal cultivation-based approach. This would result in the generation of clean water and algae biomass for various applications, therefore creating new revenue-generation opportunities. The technology being developed and jointly tested will create an opportunity to deploy containerised photobioreactor-based wastewater treatment solutions for industries and communities.

A pioneer in sustainable waste management, Organic Recycling Systems (ORS) offers comprehensive solutions across the entire waste lifecycle, from development and technology licensing to plant operations and consulting. Established in 2008, ORS leverages its expertise and patented technologies to convert waste into resources, like electricity and compost, as evidenced by its award-winning WTE plant and MSW processing facility in Solapur. They are constantly innovating through R&D to expand their reach and impact in the environmental sector.
