These stocks emerged as gainers during the markets losing streak!

While there was no relief in the markets, which continued to fall, these stocks gained in the pre-opening session today.

After witnessing a drawdown of over 1.5 per cent in the previous trading session, the equity market index S&P BSE Sensex opened in red today. The index opened at 54,522.92, a further decline of 0.57 per cent from its previous close. By 9.15 am, the index had fallen by nearly 1.2 per cent.   

Similarly, at the pre-opening bell, S&P BSE Smallcap declined marginally by 0.09 per cent, S&P BSE Midcap tumbled 0.26 per cent and S&P BSE 500 plunged 0.69 per cent.    

Meanwhile, PNB Housing Finance LtdAhluwalia Contracts (India) Ltd, and Borosil Ltd gained the most and topped BSE’s Group A gainers’ list.   

PNB Housing Finance Ltd, an S&P BSE 500 company, zoomed 5.97 per cent and was trading at Rs 368.55 apiece on the bourses. On Saturday, the company announced that w.e.f. May 9, 2022, i.e., today, it shall increase its retail lending reference rate on housing and non-housing loans.   

Ahluwalia Contracts (India) Ltd, an S&P BSE SmallCap company, jumped 5.79 per cent and was trading at Rs 494.90.  

The shares of Borosil Ltd, another S&P BSE SmallCap company, were trading at Rs 341.40 apiece, inching higher by 5.31 per cent. This rally comes ahead of the company’s result for the quarter and year ended March 31, 2022, which is set to be announced today.
