Dow Jones Industrial Average experienced its worst half-year decline since 1962, dropping 15.3 per cent. MSCI global stock index as well experienced its worst drop, falling 20.9 per cent in the first half.

Furthermore, the 10-year Treasury yield fell below 3 per cent for the first time in nearly a month, falling 11.8 basis points to hover near 2.97 per cent. This occurred in the midst of the rising demand for safe-haven assets.
In May, India's eight core infrastructure sectors increased by 18.1 per cent, compared to 16.4 per cent in the same month last year. The fiscal deficit at the end of May was 12.3 per cent of the annual budget target for 2022-23, up from 8.2 per cent at the end of the same month last year, owing primarily to higher spending.
Today, Nifty 50 began flat and quickly began to fall. At the time of writing, it had recovered slightly but was still down 162.85 points (1.03 per cent) at 15,617.40. Having said that, there are some pockets of strength.
