In keeping with Asian markets, Nifty 50 began higher today, while US indices also closed higher on Thursday. In this post, we have curated a list of stocks exhibiting powerful breakout.
Following cues from Asian counterparts and an upbeat session on Wall Street, Nifty 50 began higher at the 17,923.35 level. Major Wall Street indices closed higher on Thursday as market players digested Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell’s speech.
He claimed that the Federal Reserve is dedicated to keeping inflation under control. Although this remark caused indices to fall, they quickly recovered to conclude the session with significant gains. This increase can be attributed to rate-sensitive sectors like banking and healthcare.
Nasdaq Composite increased by 0.6 per cent, Dow Jones advanced by 0.61 per cent, and the S&P 500 climbed by 0.66 per cent. Dow futures and Nasdaq 100 futures were also trading higher. Asian markets rose on Friday as investors assessed the outlook for the US Fed's tightening strategy to curb excessive inflation.
Nifty was trading higher at 17,862.6 at the time of writing, up 63.85 points (0.36 per cent). Broader markets are performing mixed when compared to frontline indices. Nifty Mid-Cap 100 index rose by 0.43 per cent, while Nifty Small-Cap 100 index gained by 0.08 per cent.
The advance-decline ratio on BSE was modest. Around 1,728 stocks were up, 1,587 were down, and 130 stayed unchanged. On a sectoral front, banking, metals, and FMCG outperformed, while media and realty were the Top Losers.
As on September 8, 2022, FIIs were net purchasers while DIIs were net sellers, according to data. Foreign Institutional Investors (FII) purchased shares worth Rs 2,913.09 crore. Domestic Institutional Investors (DII) sold shares worth Rs 212.61 crore.
