At 11 am on Tuesday, the headline indices Sensex and Nifty 50 were seen trading at 56,721 and 16,880 levels, respectively. The Sensex is up by 899 points in the morning session and Nifty has risen 265 points since the last trading session.

The top 5 gainers of Sensex were HCL Technologies, Tata Steel, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, and Titan Company. Whereas, the only loser on the Sensex was Power Grid Corporation.

The Nifty Midcap 100 index is trading at 29,342 and is up by 1.75 per cent. The top 3 gainers of the index were Vodafone Idea, L&T Finance, and Fortis Healthcare. Each of these stocks was up by more than 4 per cent. Similarly, the top 3 stocks dragging the index include Adani Total Gas, Alembic Pharmaceuticals, and JSW Energy.

The Nifty Smallcap 100 index is trading at 10,632, up by 2.12 per cent. The top 3 gainers are VIP Industries, PNB Housing Finance, and Amber Enterprises. Each of these scrips was up by more than 5 per cent. The top 3 stocks dragging the index were Future Retail, Alkyl Amines, and Thyrocare Technologies.

All the sectoral indices on Nifty seem to be recovering the losses incurred yesterday, with Nifty IT and Nifty Metal making a strong comeback. Both of these indices are up by 3-4 per cent. Nifty Healthcare index is down by 2.5 per cent mostly due to the rising Omicron cases, domestically as well as globally, and lack of infrastructure and readiness within the country if there has to be another wave.
