Indian equity market finished lower on February 28, with Nifty hovering below 22,000 as selling was witnessed across the sectors.
At the closing bell on Wednesday, the Sensex was down 790.34 points or 1.08 per cent at 72,304.88, and the Nifty dropped 247.10 points or 1.11 per cent at 21,951.20.
Top Nifty50 losers of the day were Power Grid Corporation, Apollo Hospitals, Eicher Motors, and Maruti Suzuki.
In the broader markets, the BSE Mid-Cap and Small-Cap indices fell 2 per cent each.
