BSE Smallcap index relatively underperformed broader markets by climbing only 0.21 per cent to end at 26,773.41

On Monday, the Indian equity markets kept an eye on the quarterly results. The weak start of IT earnings lowered the sentiments which made benchmark indices start the session on  a negative note. 

BSE Smallcap index also closed in the green territory at 25,640.81, up by 0.28 per cent.

The equity benchmark indices closed higher in a volatile session on Monday. The hopeful trends in the global markets motivated the domestic market to trade higher, in which, the large-cap stocks rose the most while the mid-cap and small-cap stocks in broader markets continued to trade under pressure.
