On Wednesday, the Sensex gained by 242 points to close at 61,275.09, while the Nifty 50 gained by 86 points to close at 18,015.85

On Tuesday, the Sensex gained by 600 points to close at 61,032.26, while the Nifty 50 gained by 158 points to close at 17,929.85

At the time of market closing on Thursday, the headline equity indices, i.e. Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading flat amidst volatility in the global markets.   

During Thursday's opening bell, the Indian markets moved favourably despite conflicting global trends. Notably, on the global front, the rising likelihood of the US economy entering a recession is also a cause of concern with fluctuating crude oil prices serving as the main driver of this fear.

The Sensex has recovered from the morning losses and is trading higher by 193 points at 53,040 at 11.08 am.
