Stocks below Rs 100: Only buyers seen in these scrips on May 24

The Asia Pacific markets dipped as the US president announced tariff cuts on Chinese goods. 

Around noon on Tuesday, the core equity indices i.e., Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading marginally higher amidst mixed global cues.

Japan’s macroeconomic data shrank for the first quarter of FY22. As a result, Nikkei plunged 0.94 per cent.    

The US equity index S&P 500 and Dow Jones climbed 2 per cent each in the last trading session; however, the overnight US stock futures are trading bearish. Economic advisors all over the world are worrying that the recession coupled with the rising inflation is going to affect the markets this year.   

The crude oil price was down by 1.26 per cent and was trading at $108.89 per barrel while the 10-year US treasury bond yield was trading at 2.832 per cent.  

Sensex was at 54,398.03, up by 109.42 points or 0.20 per cent while Nifty was at 16,223.40, up by 8.70 points or 0.06 per cent from the last trading session.             

On BSE, 1,180 shares have advanced, 1,938  shares declined whereas 144 shares are unchanged.             

The Top Gainers in Nifty 50 pack are HDFC, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Power Grid Corporation of India, and Mahindra & Mahindra. Meanwhile, the Top Losers pulling down the index are Divi’s Labs, Grasim Industries, ONGC, Tech Mahindra, and Hindustan Unilever.  

BSE Smallcap index is trading at 26,093.91, down by 0.34 per cent. The top gainers in the pack were Shilpa Medicare, Hikal, Bhagiradh Chemicals & Industries, Sharda Cropchem, and Universal Cables. Each of these stocks has gained more than 8 per cent. Similarly, the top losers include Techno Electric Engineering Company, Rupa Company, Tamil Nadu Petroproducts, Thomas Cook (India), and HG Infra Engineering.  

On the sectoral front, only BSE Auto, BSE Finance, BSE Private Bank, and BSE energy were trading in the green territory.
