Stocks below Rs 100: Only buyers seen in these scrips on May 18

The US Fed Chairman, has again warned that he will keep on increasing the interest rates , if the inflation does not come down to a health level.

At 12.30 pm on Wednesday, the core equity indices i.e., Sensex and Nifty 50 were flat as the global markets were also exhibiting positive cues today.    

The US indices namely, Nasdaq and Dow Jones were up by 1.34 per cent & 2.76 per cent, respectively whereas Japan’s Nikkei Exchange was up by 0.94 per cent as Japan’s annual economic data came out better-than-expected for the quarter from January-March 2022.  

The crude oil price was up by 0.53 per cent and was trading at $113 per barrel while the 10-year US Treasury bond yield was trading at 2.97 per cent.  

Sensex was at 54,311.25, down by 7.22 points or 0.04 per cent while Nifty was at 16,252.20, down by 7.10 points or 0.04 per cent from the last trading session.            

On BSE, 1,856  shares have advanced, 1,369 shares declined whereas 141 shares are unchanged.               

The Top Gainers in Nifty 50 pack are Tata Consumer Products, UltraTech Cement, Asian Paints, Adani Ports, and Cipla. Meanwhile, the top five stocks pulling down the index are Power Grid Corporation of India, Bajaj Finserv, Bharti Airtel, BPCL, and Apollo Hospitals.   

BSE Smallcap index is trading at 26,369.1, up by 0.19 per cent. The top gainers in the pack were Orient Bell, Wockhardt, Sudarshan Chemical, Datamatics Global Services, and Nucleus Software. Each of these stocks has gained more than 10 per cent. Similarly, the Top Losers include Muthoot Capital Services, Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemical, Metropolis Healthcare, Dr Lal PathLabs, and Acrysil Limited.   

Almost all the sectoral indices were trading flat with BSE Power and utilities sector being the most bullish. On the other hand, realty and PSU sectors were dragging the sectoral indices by more than a per cent each.
