Stocks below Rs 100: Only buyers seen in these scrips on May 17

At 12.30 pm on Tuesday, the core equity indices i.e., Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading  higher owing to mixed global cues and a tech rally in the global markets.

The shares of LIC India made a dismal debut on the bourses despite the investors' inflated aspirations. The stock got listed at a discount of 8.83% at  Rs 872 on the BSE.

Asian markets have gone up as the technology stocks performed well on the bourses.  

The crude oil price was trading flat at Rs 113.96. The 10-year US bond yield also dipped and is trading at 2.91 per cent.  

 Sensex was at 53,909.38, up by 935.54 points or 1.77 per cent while Nifty was at 16,124.00, up by 276.35 points or 1.74 per cent from the last trading session.            

On BSE, 2,437 shares have advanced, 753 shares declined whereas 114 shares are unchanged.               

The Top Gainers in Nifty 50 pack are Hindalco Industries, Coal India, ONGC, JSW Steel, and Tata Steel. Meanwhile, the top five stocks pulling down the index are Cipla, Tata Consumer Products, HDFC Life Insurance Company, Sun Pharmaceutical, and Power Grid Corporation of India.  

BSE Smallcap index is trading at 25,446.89, up by 0.52 per cent. The top gainers in the pack were Orient Bell, Vardhman Textiles, Sunflag Iron & Steel Company, TTK Healthcare, and Shyam Metalics & Energy. Each of these stocks has gained more than 9 per cent. Similarly, the Top Losers include Steel Exchange India, Urja Global, Birla Tyres, Future Retail, and KBC Global.  

Almost all the sectoral indices were trading in the green with BSE Metal climbing more than 5 per cent along with BSE Oil & Gas, BSE Telecom, and BSE Energy being up in the range of 2 to 3 per cent.
