Stocks below Rs 100: Only buyers seen in these scrips on July 21

At the time of market closing on Thursday, the headline equity indices, i.e. Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading flat amidst volatility in the global markets.

The US stock futures are exhibiting a bearish trend in the pre-market session. Dow Jones index rose 0.15 per cent while S&P 500 and the tech-heavy Nasdaq also increased 0.59 per cent & 1.58 per cent, respectively.  

The shares in Asia-Pacific markets are showing mixed signs as Japan’s Nikkei index jumped 0.44 per cent due to a rally in the US markets whereas Shanghai Composite index dropped 0.99 per cent and Hang Seng index fell 1.51 per cent.  

Sensex closed at 55,681.95, up by 284.42 points or 0.51 per cent whereas Nifty 50 was trading at 16,605.25, up by 84.40 points or 0.51 per cent. Nifty Bank was up by 0.64 per cent at the 36,201.00 level.  

The FIIs bought equity worth Rs 1,780.94 crore on Tuesday (July 20) while the DIIs sold equity net worth Rs 230.22 crore.      

The Top Gainers in Nifty 50 pack are ONGC, Apollo Hospitals, Tech Mahindra, Reliance Industries, and TCS. Meanwhile, the Top Losers pulling down the index are HDFC Life Insurance Company, Eicher Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, and Kotak Mahindra Bank.  

BSE Smallcap index is trading at 26,645.02, up by 1.05 per cent. The top gainers in the pack were Hindustan Foods, Aegis Logistics, Syncom Formulations (India), AGI Greenpac, and Borosil. Each of these stocks gained more than 11 per cent. Similarly, the top losers were Techno Electric & Engineering, Orient Bell, Sasken Technologies, Elecon Engineering Co, and Time Technoplast.  

On the sectoral front, BSE Capital Goods, BSE Oil & Gas, BSE Telecom, and BSE Private Bank ended higher by more than a per cent each on the bourses.
