Stocks below Rs 100: Only buyers seen in these scrips on July 20

The US equity indices climbed more than 2 per cent as Netflix posted better-than-expected earnings reports and recovered losses in the number of subscribers along with cheaper ad plans in the future. 

In the afternoon sessionon Wednesday, the headline equity indices, i.e. Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading higher as the global markets continued their gaining rally. 

The US equity indices climbed more than 2 per cent as Netflix posted better-than-expected earnings reports and recovered losses in the number of subscribers along with cheaper ad plans in the future. 

Dow Jones index rose 2.43 per cent whereas S&P 500 and tech-heavy Nasdaq also ended in positive, surging 2.76 per cent & 3.11 per cent, respectively. 

The shares in Asia-Pacific markets also gained as Japan’s Nikkei index jumped 2.51 per cent due to a rally in the US markets while Shanghai Composite index also gained 0.45 per cent as the Chinese Government kept its one-year and five-year loan prime rates unchanged at 3.7 per cent & 4.45 per cent, respectively. 

Sensex was at 55,509.42, up by 741.80 points or 1.36 per cent whereas Nifty 50 was trading at 16,556.00, up by 215.45 points or 1.32 per cent. Nifty Bank also inched higher by 1.06 per cent and is trading at 36.097.45 level.  

The FIIs bought equity worth Rs 976.4 crore on Tuesday (July 19) while the DIIs sold equity worth Rs 100.73 crore.   

The Top Gainers in Nifty 50 pack are ONGC, Apollo Hospitals, Tech Mahindra, Reliance Industries, and TCS. Meanwhile, the Top Losers pulling down the index include HDFC Life Insurance Company, Eicher Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, and Kotak Mahindra Bank.  

BSE Smallcap index is trading at 26,645.02, up by 1.05 per cent. The top gainers in the pack were Ramco Systems, Laxmi Organic Industries, Navkar Corporation, Anant Raj, and Newgen Software Technologies. Each of these stocks gained more than 8 per cent. Similarly, the top losers were Manorama Industries, Hinduja Global Solutions, GTL Infrastructure, Garware Hi-Tech Films, and Tube Investments of India.    

It is an evergreen day for the sectors with BSE IT, BSE Teck, BSE Oil & Gas, BSE Energy, and BSE Metal gaining more than 1.5 per cent each.
