Stocks below Rs 100: Only buyers seen in these scrips on April 8

At noon on Friday, the core equity indices i.e., Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading higher as RBI kept the policy rates unchanged in the bi-monthly policy meet. The monetary policy stance remains accommodative as the repo rate also remains unchanged at 4 per cent.

India’s inflation rate is forecasted at 5.7 per cent in FY23, whereas the GDP growth is capped at 7.2 per cent for the same.  

The global markets traded flat on Thursday with the 10-year US treasury yield hitting a three-year high at 2.658 per cent on Friday whereas crude oil is trading lower at $96 per barrel.  

Sensex was at 59,143.24, up by 108.29 points or 0.18 per cent while Nifty was at 17,692.40, up by 52.85 points or 0.30 per cent from the last trading session.                 

On BSE, 2,121 shares have advanced, 1,073 shares declined whereas 137 shares are unchanged.       

The top five gainers in Nifty 50 pack are Grasim India, SBI Life Insurance Company, JSW Steel, Coal India, and Adani Ports & SEZ. Meanwhile, the top five stocks pulling down the index are Cipla, NTPC, HDFC Bank, HDFC, and Sun Pharmaceuticals.  

BSE Smallcap index is trading at 29,738.14, up by 0.89 per cent. The top five gainers are Jaiprakash Associates (up by 19.91 per cent), Nectar Life Sciences (up by 15.11 per cent), Deep Industries (up by 15.02 per cent), GTPL Hathway (up by 13.09 per cent), and Prakash Pipes (up by 10.40 per cent). Each of these stocks gained more than 14 per cent. Similarly, the top five stocks pulling the index down include Welspun Corporation, Usha Martin, Everest Industries, IB Real Estate, and Brightcom Group. 

Sector-wise speaking, BSE Metal, BSE Utilities, and Oil & Gas were up by more than 1 per cent each while BSE IT, BSE Auto as well as BSE Finance indices were dragging in the morning session.
