Stocks below Rs 100: Only buyers seen in these scrips on April 4

At 11.15 am on Monday, the core equity indices i.e., Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading in the green on the back of the latest merger between HDFC Ltd and HDFC Bank. The merger lifted up the banking sector and also, the investors’ spirits higher in general, making the markets reach the highest levels since October 2021!  

Sensex was at 60,400.08, up by 1,123.39 points or 1.90 per cent while Nifty was at 17,979, up by 308.55 points or 1.75 per cent from the last trading session.         

On BSE, 2,522 shares have advanced, 762 shares declined whereas 143 shares are unchanged.     

The top five gainers in Nifty 50 pack are HDFC, HDFC Bank, Hero MotoCorp, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Tata Motors. Meanwhile, the top five stocks pulling down the index are Infosys, Cipla, ONGC, Tata Consumer Products, and Grasim Industries..  

   BSE Smallcap index is trading at 29,040.86, up by 1.19 per cent. The top five gainers are Suryoday Small Finance Bank, SML Isuzu, Ashapura Minechem, Plastiblend India, and KBC Global. Each of these stocks gained more than 15 per cent. Similarly, the top five stocks pulling the index down include PC Jewellers, Tourism Finance Corporation of India, Excel Industries, Deep Industries, and DFM Foods.   

In BSE sectoral space, all the indices are flourishing with BSE Finance and BSE Private Bank climbing more than 3 per cent each. Similarly, BSE Telecom, BSE Power, BSE Oil & Gas, and BSE Capital Goods are up by more than 1 per cent each.
