After a stellar performance in July, the equity market's dream run continues in August. The trading session on August 02 was volatile and positive. With 1,884 shares advancing on the BSE versus 1,487 shares declining, the advance-decline ratio was clearly in favour of the advances.
IndusInd Bank became the top BSE Sensex gainer on Tuesday after posting gains of over 2.59 per cent, with banks dominating the index gains. On a closing basis, State Bank of India and Kotak Mahindra Bank were among the top contributors to the index.
Investors were focused on the BSE Midcap index, with Kansai Nerolac leading the list of index gainers. Shares of Kansai Nerolac soared by more than 16 per cent. As the price-volume breakout drove Yes Bank shares higher by more than 12 per cent in a choppy session, the stock witnessed some significant buying. The rumour that Aditya Puri may join the board of Yes Bank on behalf of Carlyle group has taken the market by storm. In the previous five trading sessions, shares of Yes Bank have surged more than 21 per cent.
