Airline stocks traded mixed after jet fuel hits an all-time high. In the commodity market, yellow metal extends gains while silver tops Rs 61,000 on MCX. The rupee strengthened by 15 paise to 78.07 against the US dollar. Brent crude futures rose $2.60 or 2.1 per cent to $124.87 a barrel.
Sensex is trading with a loss of 320 points at the 52,221 level. BSE Midcap index dropped 255 points at a level of 21,692. Similarly, BSE Smallcap index fell 369 points and trades at 24,696 levels. The Top Gainers are Maruti Suzuki, Asian Paints, and ICICI Bank. Nifty Pharma index shed 0.48 per cent to 12,202.45. The index had advanced 0.57 per cent in the past two sessions.
The market breadth shows negative sentiments as out of 3,322 stocks, only 862 stocks are positive while 2,336 stocks are trading negatively.
