The broader markets were in positive territory, with the BSE Mid-Cap index rising 0.75 per cent and the BSE Small-Cap index gaining 0.75 per cent. The top mid-cap gainers were Indian Railway Finance Corp Ltd and IDBI Bank, while the top small-cap gainers were MMTC Ltd and Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd.
The BSE Information Technology Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and the BSE Consumer Durables Index was the top losing sector.
The market capitalization of BSE-listed companies was Rs 3,12,44,273 crore or approx. 312 lakh crore as of September 04, 2023. On the same day, 281 stocks hit a 52-week high, while 22 stocks touched a 52-week low.
