Roshni Nadar Malhotra took after as chairperson from her father, Shiv Nadar in 2020 to become the first woman to chair an Indian tech company and one of the few in the global tech scene. She ranked 55th on the Forbes World’s 100 Most Powerful Women that year. She was also featured in 2020 Asia’s Power Businesswomen list of 25 powerful female leaders in the Asia Pacific region.
A passionate philanthropist, she is a trustee of the Shiv Nadar Foundation, which is focused on education and has established some of India's top colleges and schools. She is also the Founder and Trustee of The Habitats Trust.
The 40-year-old business tycoon started her career as a news producer in the UK, joined HCL in 2009 and climbed up the corporate ladder to become the executive director in just 12 months given her business acumen, agility and foresight.
Roshni is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council at the MIT School of Engineering, USA, and is also a member of the Kellogg School of Management’s Executive Board for Asia of which she is an alumnus. She serves on the board of directors of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) and is an independent director on the board of the HDFC Asset Management Company.
In her strong leadership, HCL Technologies, India’s third-largest IT service company after TCS and Infosys have shown stellar performance with revenue of USD 10.17 billion or Rs 75,379 crore for FY 20-21. HCL Technologies have delivered the highest shareholder return of 138 per cent among largecap technology companies. HCL Technologies latest market capitalization is Rs 348516 crore under the leadership of Roshni Nadar Malhotra.
