Pharma major Cipla launches ‘Spirofy, a wireless spirometer

Cipla Limited, a leading pharmaceutical company announced the launch of ‘Spirofy’, a pneumotach based portable, wireless Spirometer today, on World COPD Day. This product is the first of its kind in India.
Aligned with the ambition to strengthen its position as the lung leader in India, the company aims to transform the diagnosis of Obstructive Airway Disease (OAD) with this launch.
The product ‘Spirofy’ is being launched after five years of meticulous in-house research done by the company’s Integrated Product Development (IPD) team. This device ensures high result accuracy and the safety of patients by making use of Bacterial Viral Filters.
The device is completely wireless and has a good battery backup, which makes it suitable for use in outdoor camps, remote areas that face power shortages. Owing to its flexibility and ease of use, it can also be used by physicians.
Furthermore, the device generates reports in real-time, and these reports can be either be printed instantly, or a pdf version can be shared on the phone. Cipla will provide training to physicians for the interpretation of spirometry results.
At 12.48 pm, the share price of Cipla Ltd was trading at Rs 905, a decline of 1.74 per cent from the previous day’s closing price of Rs 921.05 on BSE.
