French healthcare major Sanofi has agreed to acquire biotechnology company Bioverativ for US$11.6 billion. The company will buy all the outstanding shares of Bioverativ for US$105 per share in cash.

Following stocks are close to their 52-week low as at 1.15 p.m. on January 22.

The markets on January 22 opened up. BSE Sensex is trading at 35,645.02, up by 133.44 points and the Nifty is trading at 10,917.30, up by 22.60 points. 

Adani Power declined by 17.39 per cent for the last 10 days on account of widening losses in its bottomline for Q3FY18. Company’s revenue declined by 10.8 per cent YoY to Rs. 4,844 cr. The loss for the quarter came in at Rs. 1,284 cr compared to loss of Rs.674 cr in Q3FY17.

The most-awaited merger of oil and gas majors ONGC and HPCL materialized, providing the government with a much-needed reason to rejoice. With the completion of the deal, ONGC acquired 51.11 per cent in HPCL for a consideration of Rs. 473.97 per share.
