The markets on May 11, 2018 opened up. BSE Sensex is trading at 35,344.36, up by 98.09 points and the Nifty is trading at 10,752.10, up by 35.55 points.

Union Bank of India dropped about 5 per cent intraday on Friday to Rs. 83.25 per share, their lowest since July 26, 2006 on the back of net loss of Q4FY18.

Asian Paints posted its Q4FY18 results on Thursday, May 10. On Friday, May 11, the stock surged more than 5.5 per cent scaling above all prior resistances and hitting an all-time high. The stock had gained momentum earlier since the end of April itself, may be ahead of the results.

Jio has barged into the postpaid segment with a new Rs. 199 plan which might severely hurt the revenues of Idea and Airtel in the upcoming quarters.

Overall volumes in futures & options currently stand at 1.16 lakh contracts with a turnover of Rs. 11,46,073.95 crore.
