The markets on January 22 opened up. BSE Sensex is trading at 35,645.02, up by 133.44 points and the Nifty is trading at 10,917.30, up by 22.60 points. 

Adani Power declined by 17.39 per cent for the last 10 days on account of widening losses in its bottomline for Q3FY18. Company’s revenue declined by 10.8 per cent YoY to Rs. 4,844 cr. The loss for the quarter came in at Rs. 1,284 cr compared to loss of Rs.674 cr in Q3FY17.

The most-awaited merger of oil and gas majors ONGC and HPCL materialized, providing the government with a much-needed reason to rejoice. With the completion of the deal, ONGC acquired 51.11 per cent in HPCL for a consideration of Rs. 473.97 per share.

Apollo Micro Systems made a blockbuster debut on Monday as the scrip got listed at a premium of 73.82 per cent on BSE at a price of Rs. 478 per share over its issue price of Rs. 275.

Grasim Industries, an Aditya Birla Group company has received government clearance for expansion of VSF plant in Vilayat, Bharuch district, Gujarat. The expansion project would require an investment of around Rs. 2,500 crore.
