Indian markets are likely to witness an optimistic start on the final trading session of the 2018. The SGX Nifty indicates Nifty may open around levels of 10,972 up by 0.46 per cent. 

Uttam Sugar Mills has successfully completed the expansion of its distillery (ethanol) capacity to 150 KLPD from 75 KLPD at the Barkatpur unit. This expansion would help the company to reduce its dependency on the sugar cycle.

HT Media Limited has made an open offer to the public shareholders of Next Mediaworks Limited as per the SEBI regulations. HT Media will acquire upto 1,73,92,157 fully paid-up equity shares of Next Mediaworks from the open market following the merger of the two entities.

The Union government plans to list seven public sector enterprises in 2019. The Cabinet Committee has approved a divestment plan wherein 6 state-owned entities will float an initial public offering (IPO), while one already listed company KIOCL will issue a follow-on offer. 

Bank of India is likely to get the highest amount of Rs 10,086 crore, out of these seven PSBs, followed by Oriental Bank of Commerce, which might get Rs 5,500 crore through recapitalisation bonds, sources added.
