The interim Union Budget 2019 attempted to alleviate the unemployment crisis plaguing India to a certain extent. Ironically, a report was leaked just yesterday, allegedly revealing that the unemployment rate in India stood at a 45-year high of 6.1 per cent during 2017-18! The government refuted this by stating the study conducted in December 2018 was yet to be approved. This has created much speculation and controversy.

In the interim Union Budget 2019, the Finance Minister Piyush Goyal announced several changes to the Income Tax Slab Rates, while also announcing tax exemptions to benefit the middle-class section of the voter base. 

The company that manages India's fastest stock exchange BSE Limited reported consolidated PAT of Rs. 50.07 crore for the December 2018 quarter, which is up 23 per cent QoQ. The company has declared an interim dividend of Rs. 5 per equity share.

The Union Budget 2019 offered a helping hand to the Animal Husbandry and Fisheries sector. The government announced increased allocation for Rashtriya Gokul Mission and 2 per cent interest subvention for farmers engaged in these sectors.
