Nifty closes above 17,500; Mahindra and Mahindra, Hindalco, and Coal India emerge as top gainers

M&M, Coal India & Hindalco were the top gainers while BPCL, SBI, and UltraTech Cement emerged as top losers amongst Nifty stocks

Indices closed higher on Monday as Nifty soared above the 17,500-level. The benchmark index closed higher by 0.73 per cent while Sensex jumped 465 points. Meanwhile, the broader market also performed well as Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap closed higher by 0.35 per cent each.

Indices closed flat amid volatility: IT and financials outperform; energy and auto plunge

UltraTech Cement, Shree Cement & ICICI bank were the top gainers for the day while Britannia, Hindalco, and M&M were weak today.

Indices have closed mixed amid volatility. Nifty closed marginally higher by 15 points near 17,400 while Sensex surged 90 points. Meanwhile, Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap also closed on a mixed note.

Cipla, Nestle, and Sun Pharma emerged as the top gainers while NTPC, Tata Consumer Products & Coal India were the top losers.

Indices closed mixed in what can be said as one of the most volatile days in recent times as Nifty lost 6 points at the end of the day. Sensex slipped 50 points whereas Nifty Midcap rose 0.60 per cent.

Nifty gains for sixth straight day; broader markets underperform!

Nifty IT emerged as the top gainer as it surged over a per cent.

On the options front, the 17,300 PE (August 4 Series) option saw maximum addition for the day i.e. nearly 25 lakh shares were added at this strike price, which took the total open interest at this strike above 72 lakh shares. Meanwhile, on the CE side, maximum open interest was seen around 17,500 strike price

Nifty closes flat near 17,350; IndusInd Bank, Asian Paints and NTPC emerge as top gainers

IndusInd Bank, Asian Paints & NTPC emerged as the top gainers whereas UPL and Hero MotoCorp were the top losers.

Indices closed flat amid volatility. Nifty hit a high of 17,390 but in the last half an hour, witnessed profit booking. The benchmark index closed higher by 5 points at 17,345 while Sensex gained 20 points.
