In Thursday's trading session, the benchmark indices closed on a downward trajectory, with the Sensex declining by 0.19 per cent to reach 69,521.69, and the Nifty also closing lower by 0.17 per cent at 20,901.15. However, broader indices painted a different picture, with Nifty Mid-Cap gaining 0.59 per cent and Nifty Small-Cap closing higher by 0.37 per cent.

Market volatility, as measured by India VIX, witnessed a 7.77 per cent decline, suggesting a reduction in overall market volatility. Notable gainers included Nifty Energy, Nifty Media, and Nifty Pharma, while Nifty FMCG, Nifty Metal, and Nifty IT underperformed.

Top Gainers from the Nifty 50 featured Power Grid, Adani Ports, and Ultratech Cement, whereas Bharti Airtel, Hindustan Unilever, and ONGC experienced losses.

The broader market sentiment appeared positive, with 1151 stocks advancing against 887 stocks declining. This mixed performance across sectors and indices reflects the dynamic nature of the market during the trading session.

Alankit - Heavy buying was witnessed in the counter as the scrip zoomed and got locked at 5 per cent upper circuit, recording an intraday high of Rs 15.15 per share on NSE. The company specializes in e-Governance and e-Governance products, boasting a proven track record demonstrated by the successful completion of numerous e-Governance projects.

 

Balkrishna Paper Mills - The scrip experienced significant buying activity, resulting in the stock surging and getting locked at 20 per cent upper circuit, reaching an intraday high of Rs 37.65 per share on NSE. Established in 1975, Balkrishna Paper Mills Ltd engages in the manufacturing and marketing of Coated Duplex Board.

 

Goyal Aluminiums - A solid price volume breakout was seen at the counter today as the stock rallied and got locked at 5 per cent upper circuit to record an intraday high of Rs 9.05 per share on NSE. Incorporated in 2017, Goyal Aluminiums Ltd engages in the trading of aluminum and various other metals.
