Penny stock under Rs 40: This iron and steel company gained more than 13 per cent today; do you have it?

Shares of the company have gained about 15 per cent in the last two trading sessions.

Shares of NMDC Steel Limited were amongst the top gainer in today’s trading session gaining more than 13 per cent. While the BSE Sensex gained 0.11 per cent or 64.55 and NSE’s Nifty 50 gained only 0.03 per cent staying flat.    

NMDC Steel was incorporated as a wholly owned subsidiary of NMDC on January 2, 2015, under the Companies Act, 2013 with a registered office at NMDC Iron & Steel Plant, Nagarnar (Bastar, Chhattisgarh). The company was demerged from NMDC Limited, NMDC Steel is a central public sector enterprise with a paid-up capital of Rs 2,930 crore owned by the Government of India, under the administrative control of the Ministry of Steel. The Government owns a 60.79 per cent stake in this company. 

Today, the stock opened at Rs 33.98, with a high and low of Rs 38.25 and Rs 33.31. The stock closed trading at Rs 36.84, up by 9.48 per cent.    \

In the last six months, the shares of the company have given more than 15 per cent returns and in the last one month, the stock has given about 11 per cent returns. It has a 52-week high of Rs 39.40 and a 52-week low of Rs 29.05. The company has a market capitalisation of Rs 10,796 crore.
