The following small-cap and mid-cap stocks are likely to be in focus on Thursday:

Nucleus Software – The company has recently announced the postal ballot results of their proposed buyback of 22,67,400 equity shares, for an aggregate amount not exceeding Rs 159 crore. The total buyback shares represent 7.81 per cent of the total paid-up equity capital of the company. The buyback is proposed to be made at a price of Rs 700 (per piece), as against the face value of Rs 10 each. The closing market price as of the date of declaration of postal ballot results at BSE was Rs 579.30, while at NSE was Rs 579.25.

To quote Vishnu Dusad, Managing Director of Nucleus Software from a filing with the exchange, “At Nucleus Software, we are committed to creating long-term value for our people, clients, and shareholders. The buyback will enable us to return a part of the surplus funds to the equity shareholders broadly in proportion to their shareholding. The rapid digital transformation of BFSI institutions globally inspires our confidence in the market that is at the cusp of redefining the customer experience, speed, and 24/7 banking.”

Capital Trust - The company has announced its financial results for the quarter ended September 20, 2021. Disbursements for the quarter stood at Rs 45.5 crore, up by 311 per cent on a QoQ basis. Profit After Tax (PAT) came in at Rs 0.9 crore from a loss of Rs 13.8 crore on a sequential basis.

Despite the disruptions caused by COVID-19, the company has significantly expanded its branch network by opening 71 new branches during the quarter.
