Overnight Digest: These small caps will be in focus on Friday
Domestic markets continued to trade firm depicting an upbeat mood in the global markets led by gains in realty, financials and IT stocks, while broader markets strengthened.
Among the sectors, barring metals and media, all the indices ended higher with FMCG, PSU banks and realty taking the position of top gainers. The broader indices continued their positive trend ended higher in the range of 0.9-1.3 per cent. Amid all, the Nifty ended with gains of 0.7 per cent to 17,072.60 levels and Sensex with gains of 0.68 per cent at 57,315.28 levels.
Power Grid Corporation, IOC, ONGC, ITC and Cipla were among the top Nifty gainers. Losers were JSW Steel, Divis Labs, Bharti Airtel, Sun Pharma and UltraTech Cement.

Mold-Tek Packaging – The company has recently informed the exchange that it has successfully completed its QIP issue, at a premium of 2.44 per cent over floor price, aggregating to Rs 103.6 crore. The funds that have invested in this QIP include marquee investors such as Goldman Sachs India Equity, White Oak India Equity Fund, Aditya Birla Sun Life Trustee Private Limited, ICICI Prudential Smallcap Fund and others.
The company is planning to deploy these funds for its entry into injection blow moulding products for regulated pharmaceuticals, food and FMCG, cosmetics and OTC medicine segments. The company is also introducing digital packaging through dynamic QR coded IML, which will provide traceability, anti-counterfeit and marketing promotions facilities, that can be digitally controlled by their clients.
Nucleus Software – FPT Information System (FIS) consortium, the leading provider of lending and transaction banking products to the global financial services industry, has been awarded the contract for its retail loan origination system by Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank - VCB).
